3D Archery

Review elements of safety, get warmed up and shoot some fun 3D archery targets! All equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring your own equipment if you would like. Previous archery experience required. $12/person.

Learn archery basics and elements of safety. Shoot at traditional and 3D stationary animal targets. $12/person.


Campfire Cooking: Farmers Market Edition

Our farmers market theme is always a hit, so we are bringing it back again this year with new items and recipes! Bring your family and friends for a unique dining experience. Wondering what to do with all the great fresh items you find at the farmers market this time of year? Cook them over the campfire! Make your next cookout amazing with tips and recipes everyone will love. Cook and eat tasty food during this wilderness feast. We will make several items including veggie fritters cooked in a Muurikka. Come give it a try! $14 ages 16+; $10 ages 3-15; children under 3 free.


Family Camp

Stay overnight in a rustic log cabin with your family. Try summer camp activities such as archery, climbing, nature programs and crafts, or spend time relaxing on your own. Meals are on your own and cooked at outdoor grill sites. Camp activity equipment, advice, firewood and cooking/eating utensils provided. Maximum one cabin per family (maximum eight people). $240 per cabin plus tax.


Family Camp: Tent Edition

Stay overnight in a tent with your family at the Lake Katrina group site in Baker Park. Learn new camping skills and participate in summer camp activities such as archery, crafts, games and nature programs, or spend time relaxing on your own. Meals are on your own and cooked at outdoor grill sites or on cookstoves. We provide your tents, sleeping pads, lanterns, cookstoves, firewood and advice, as well as all camp activity equipment. Two tents per registration provided (maximum eight people). $160 per site plus tax.


Family Hunter Education Overnight Camp

Earn a Minnesota DNR firearms safety certificate while camping overnight in a log cabin with friends or family. Learn safe firearms handling, hunter ethics and education and wildlife management. Shoot a .22 at a local gun range. Try archery, fire starting techniques, rock climbing and survival skills. All meals and equipment provided. Maximum six children per adult (cabins sleep eight). Run by DNR-certified firearms safety instructors. $399 per cabin plus tax.


Friends & Family Archery

Discover the joy of archery while learning archery basics, elements of safety, shooting at stationary targets and playing games. Equipment provided. Designed for beginning to intermediate archers. $12/person.


Girl Scouts: Brownies Climbing Adventure Badge

Learn climbing skills on an outdoor artificial climbing wall as you complete this badge. Set goals, get geared up and challenge yourself! Must weigh at least 40 pounds. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Brownies Eco Friend Badge

Brownies will learn ways they can take care of the environment through hiking, observing wildlife, checking out animal homes, building safe campfires and being mindful of the outdoor world. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Brownies Outdoor Adventurer Badge

Scouts will explore nature, play outdoor games and gain camp skills. This is a great chance to try a lot of new things and learn which activities you would want to do again! $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Cadettes Night Owl Badge

Explore the park after dark by performing experiments, discovering what is different in darkness, investigating nocturnal animals, learning about constellations and more. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Juniors Animal Habitats Badge

Find out about wild animals and investigate where they live. Make observations at "Chickadee Landing" and experiment with insulation while trying to keep a pretend animal warm. Learn about protecting and creating animal habitats. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Juniors Digital Photography Badge

Scouts will learn about digital cameras and take lots of photos. Participants will print their favorite photo and decorate a frame to take home. Cameras are provided. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Juniors Geochacher Badge

Learn how to use a GPS unit and search for points hidden in the woods. Make a trade item and find out how to do more geocaching on your own. Reservations are required. $6/Scout.


Girl Scouts: Juniors Outdoor Art Explorer Badge

Combine nature, art, music and creativity to design outdoor-inspired artwork to take home. $8/Scout.


Grandparent Camp

Spend two nights in a rustic log cabin making memories with your grandchildren (up to eight people per cabin). Join naturalist-led activities such as rock climbing, pond exploration, campfire cooking and crafts, or spend time relaxing on your own. All meals included. Maximum three children per grandparent. This camp is for grandparents and grandkids—parents get time at home! $325 per cabin plus tax.


Homeschool Drop-off: Introduction to Taxidermy

Learn the basics of preparing and preserving small mammal skins. In this tutorial, each participant will skin and preserve a mouse, creating a “mouse rug” to take home. All materials and tools provided. $8/person.


Hunter Education Camp: Bird Hunting

Gain extensive hands-on firearms safety instruction and earn your Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety Certificate while exploring the world of bird hunting. Learn pheasant, turkey and waterfowl ecology with some hunting tips and techniques. Shoot a shotgun and .22 at a local gun range. Try archery, shooting crossbows, survival skills, making a turkey call and more. Designed for beginning hunters who do not have their firearms safety certification. Run by DNR-certified firearms safety instructors. All equipment provided. Scholarships may be available; for information, call 763-694-7856. Sponsored by the Northwest Suburban Chapter of Pheasants Forever and National Wild Turkey Federation. Friday's location will be at the Delano Sportsman Club. Campers will be assigned a two hour range timeslot and will need to provide their own transportation. Extended care available Monday-Thursday for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m. Extended care not available on Friday.


Junior Naturalist Camp

Get a taste of the time-honored tradition that is summer camp. Enjoy classic camp activities such as archery, crafts and campfires. Have adventures with new friends while exploring the woods of Baker Park Reserve. Make memories that last a lifetime! Extended care available for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


Outdoor Maker Camp

Put your hands and brains to work making, creating and building. Practice skills including beginner wood carving, campfire cooking, weaving and more. Experiment and explore while creating your own art with natural materials. Try out other outdoor activities like archery and canoeing. All materials provided. Extended care available for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


Outdoor Science Camp

Spend four days doing science with the great outdoors as your laboratory! You'll spend your time catching critters and exploring habitats around Baker Outdoor Learning Center. We’ll also do a few classic camp favorites like canoeing, crafts and a whole-camp game. Finish off the week by designing and carrying out your own field investigation. All equipment provided. Extended care available for an additional $48; dropoff begins at 8 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


Scouts: Maple Syruping

Spring is in the air! Discover the art of tapping maple trees in the sugar bush and boiling sap into syrup. See if you can tell grocery store syrup from the real stuff. This activity fulfills some requirements for Into the Woods and Trees badges. $6/Scout.


Wilderness Camp

Take classic camp activities to the next level! We'll hike deeper into the woods, canoe farther on the lake, and learn advanced camping skills like knots and lashing, compass navigation and campfire cooking. Join us for four days full of enhanced wilderness adventures. Gear will be provided. Extended care available for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.
