A Space Saga Story Camp: Nature is the Way

Join forces with others from around the galaxy as you join the Lowry Bounty Guild. We've been entrusted with an item that must be delivered. Everyone wants what we have. Learn about plants and animals, practice survival skills, take aim and try archery, become an expert in camouflage, hunt down clues and explore uncharted territories all while keeping an eye out for friend and foe as we race to save the day and unravel a galaxy-wide mystery. Bikes and helmets required for one day of camp.


Adapted Mountain Bike

Join Outdoor Recreation School instructors and experience the thrill of riding a modified hand cycle mountain bike in early spring conditions. This program is entirely outdoors. Bikes provided; participants encouraged to provide their own helmet and bring a family member or friend to accompany them on foot while they bike. We ask that all participants wear a helmet, eye protection and hand protection. If you would like to bring your own, please do. If not, we will provide it.


Archery & Adventure Camp

Start your mornings at the archery range with instructors from the Outdoor Recreation School. Learn the fundamentals of the sport and sharpen your aim with fun games and challenges, including a trip to the wooded Elm Creek Archery Range. Then swap arrows for different adventures in the afternoons with Mississippi Gateway naturalists. From catching river critters and cruising on a bike to building campfires, geocaching and more—you’ll pack a whole lot of outdoor fun into one unforgettable week. Transportation to the Elm Creek Archery Range is provided. Extended care available for an additional $75; drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


Bike Camp

Join the Outdoor Recreation School to explore parks and trails by bike. Adventure 10-20 miles per day while learning bike handling skills and basic rules of the trail. Campers must bring their own multi-geared bike and a helmet each day. In the case of severe weather, this program may need to cancel for the day.


Bike with a Naturalist

Pedal the paved trails near the Gateway Center with a naturalist. Make stops to observe what is happening along the path and near the river in early April. Learn how to plan your own bike rides on the regional trails connecting to other Three Rivers Parks. Bikes and helmets provided upon request.


Dangerous Camp

Go on adventures through woods, fields and water. Build forts and fires, and catch fish and frogs. Go on a bike ride, learn about animal camouflage and cook over a campfire. Bikes and helmets provided. Extended care available for an additional $75; drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


Daring Camp

Do you dare sign up for this adventurous camp? Play games, find and cut rocks, build things, catch and feed critters, and explore the park by foot or on an optional bike or scooter ride. Get ready for fun days filled with daring activities. Campers must provide their own bike or scooter and helmet for the optional adventure; training wheels and balance bikes are welcome.


Mountain Bike Camp

Join the Outdoor Recreation School to discover the basics of singletrack riding. Explore the importance of balance, proper riding position and technique through drills and riding 5-15 miles a day both on and off the singletrack. Campers must bring their own multi-geared mountain bike and a helmet each day. In the case of severe weather, this camp may need to cancel for the day.

Explore the outdoors, hike, bike, and canoe through the trails and waterways of Carver Park Reserve. Play games and solve challenges with other campers. Try swimming, tie-dye and solo hiking (just a little while). You’ll even spend a full day on the trail with adventures along the way. Bikes and helmets required for one day of camp.


Nature Girls II Camp

Who runs the (natural) world? GIRLS! Join this all-girl camp to try new things and reinforce skills all while spending time outdoors. Make new connections with other campers, build independence, explore the nature center as well as the town of Victoria. Try your hand at projectiles, carving, weaving, alternative fire starting and more. Bikes and helmets required for one day. Extended care available for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.


River & Rafting Adventures Camp

Explore the Mississippi River like few have had the chance to do. Build a raft and see if it floats. Investigate deserted islands and discover what lives in the river. Watch eagles and bike to explore different shorelines. Try canoeing or kayaking on a lake, and rafting down the Mississippi on a day-long trip. Equipment provided.


Zombie Survival Camp

A strange new pathogen is spreading around the world turning people into zombies. We need you to help find a cure, fight zombies and survive while riding bikes around the park. This camp will be a combination of learning how scientists investigate outbreaks and learning to survive. Learn axe throwing, archery, how to hide and other survival skills while playing zombie games in the woods. Get ready for four days of zombies, science and fun. Extended care available for an additional $48; drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ends at 5 p.m.
